Rain, at long last, rain
15 06 2007Asheville got a bit of real rain overnight. Combined with a handful of thunderstorms in recent days this is enough to give a body hope. Also to bump the river level up a bit (see link at right), and also to drive a pigeon outside my office window into its own little shelter from the storm.
Smart pigeon.
There was a freak hailstorm yesterday, too! Pea-sized hail like beads, or crushed ice! It hit the MLK Drive area & part of 240 W… There was so much hail that it piled up in “drifts” by the side of the road, like snow. Friends who were driving when it hit said they had to pull over because visibility was so bad.
It did a number on the gardens and landscaping in that area…
