Gore finishes first in Michigan poll

Al Gore, who hasn’t announced his candidacy yet, has led recent public opinion polls in Iowa and New Hampshire and has now added Michigan. A poll by the Detroit News and WXYZ-TV shows him picking up 36 percent to Clinton’s 32.

My guess is that he will announce after he collects the Nobel Peace Prize on October 12. He told reporters in Singapore last week that he is disappointed that none of the announced candidates are paying much attention to global warming. Seems to me he is setting the stage to say, “Well, if they won’t do it …”
