Your New York minute

The American Friends Service committee has issued a new report which documents spending in Iraq.

The war is costing us about $500,000 per minute if you include current costs and continuing costs (health care for returning wounded veterans, for example).

Five hundred thousand dollars is in the near range of what the average household will pay in taxes over the life of its working members. Your lifetime tax bill. One minute of war.

April 15 is going to be harder than ever next year. My lifetime taxes. One minute.

Bring them home. Now.
