Obama moves (narrowly) ahead in NC polling
RALEIGH – According to the Public Policy Polling firm, a recent poll shows that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are neck and neck in the Democratic Presidential primary.
The North Carolina primary will be held on May 6th and 115 delegates will be up for grabs.
In the poll, which was announced yesterday before planned trips to NC by both Obama and President Bill Clinton, the two candidates are very close. The polling was performed by Public Policy Polling (PPP) of Raleigh, an independent polling firm which has been accurate most of the time in the past during Presidential primaries in terms of the final outcome.
The poll numbers has Barack Obama winning by 44% of the vote, with Hillary Clinton at a close 43% of the vote. The pollsters say that Clinton is actually ahead among the Democratic registered voters, but that Obama has a large lead among the unaffiliated voters, who are allowed to vote in the Democratic primary.
And in an average of several polls, Obama has moved well ahead.
